Stars in the Night

What a night underneath a celestial canopy
Stars sparkle and seem to be hanging from a tree
Knarred branches reaching out so free
Entangled like roots form a tapestry

No need for moonlight in a spring night sky
No misuse of twilight a feast for the eye
Lover’s paradise for some not yet for I
Orion’s belt chastised me still wondering why

So cold in the season time for bride and groom
Still cold what’s the reason still blossoms bloom
Summer is waiting very still in its room
Near the door of last winter that still seems to loom

In the higher region time seems to get lost
Where lower land’s warming here still has some frost
A crescent moon peeks through where two branches cross
And hangs in the balance despite of the cost

I carefully look as I stand in the night
All the stars turning on some blue and some white
They glisten in silence and flashing so bright
Want to wait with them until morning but they’ll be alright

What a night here comes morning to start the day
And the dusting of diamonds is fading away
As this is only the month of May
The stars will come back and for a night they will stay

Morning Star

Who said that morning star
Would shine away
Who set that morning star
Did that today

We need that morning light
No without try trying
But we can’t see the sight
That is now die dying

Where’s the star in your crown
Give back to you
Has fallen down
No wish come true

Toppled your crown
Sent you away
No where to be found
Is that the way

All is lost in a rising sun
Needless to say
Where goes the only one
That’s on it’s way

Who knows how far
For where you went
Oh kingdom come
Or seventh heaven sent

There’s no way to describe
Who took you away
Who came around
Did that today

Where is that morning star
That would shine away
Who set that morning star
Did that today

Firefly

It’s been years and years
When will I see
That glowing neon
That captivates me

Above a hedge
Beyond a tree
Oh what a sight
What fun they’d be

In the darkest of nights
A glimpse of their glow
Where is the firefly
I simply don’t know

Just a blip here and there
Before you and then
Seen further away
But before you again

I would not have thought
As time would go by
Would never have caught
Another firefly

They’re not like another
That buzz in my ear
They shine like no other
Why aren’t they here

Every summer and then
I’d catch some in a jar
But where did they go
Away somewhere far

I know they’re some place
But I won’t say goodbye
I’ll just say so long
To that bright firefly

Precious

One day I saw a baby
Perfect as to His accord
How I saw such majesty
Must be precious in the sight of the Lord

A child with tender delicacies
And such beauty I never saw
Touched me more especially
Like it never had before

Graced with such innocence
Love in every way
Blessed with things I can’t express
You don’t see every day

You are so precious to me
So precious you cannot be flawed
You must also be
Precious in the sight of the Lord

Eyes that melt so easily
A demeanor with all the charm
Wrapped with care protectively
In the safety of mother’s arm

Making motor sounds with lips
One smile my spirit soared
I know you must be
Precious in the sight of the Lord

Every mother should cherish
No father could afford
To be without such blessings
Precious in the sight of the Lord

All In The Dance

Front back slow fast moves

It’s how you start the trance

Impact steadfast groves

It’s all in the dance

Love lust sexuality

All in one glance

Just trust you’ll strut the moves

That’s all in the dance

Display or no show

Don’t forget about romance

Just take it slow

It’s all in the dance

Alone in the shadows

Ready to take a chance

Becoming one silhouette

That’s all in the dance

Eye to eye never like this

Perched together in a stance

One step closer and closer

It’s all in the dance

Music is always playing

Just waiting for you to prance

The melody keeps saying

Dance dance dance

Don’t miss a beat

Get ready take the chance

Just partner with the music

It’s all in the dance

January Afternoon

January winter afternoon
Powdery landscape that I saw
From a window where I’d taken lunch
Previous day snow not yet to thaw

Gently bouncing sparrows
Come upon branches to rest
In their tethered feathered coats
Worn proud upon their chests

Wind blown dried brown leaves
Curled tight in winter’s hold
Waiting for another spring
To free them from the cold

A single cheeky sparrow
Stares in outside the pane
Hopping upon the frosty snow
Such a moment has to wane

Behold a geometric building
Diagonally obstructs my view
Of a soft blue sky before me
Off Eight Avenue

Now I must leave
A passerby adorns a heavenly scent
I must go on my way
Now my time has been spent

The sun is getting ready
To change so very soon
From the way it had started
On this January afternoon
